Hi all! I learned to type using an Arabic QWERTY keyboard on a mac (where the letters are aligned to the position of the English equivalent sound). So far I cant find a keyboard i can download for PC that does this. I have a HP laptop now. Does anyone have any tips?? I know it would be good to learn how to type properly but Im a old dog now and its not so easy to unlearn. Thanks!

It does actually Egyptian arabic is different from standard arabic. In that case id suggest you go for animated movies thats dubbed in arabic. Those use standard arabic.
Simply put, Arabic does not in fact have 12 million words. The source of the claim is معجم عجائب اللغة by Shawqi Hamadah. He calculated the number of possible roots (so possible combinations of letters in accordance with the rules of Arabic grammar, meaning you can't have a root made up of the same letter like "ممم").
Folks, I made a two Anki flashcard decks of ~5,0000 sentences of Standard Arabic with Azure-generated audio and English translations. Azure's Arabic Text-to-Speech is shockingly good, and I think you'll find it useful. I transcribed the sentences from a Frequency Dictionary of Arabic containing 5,000 entries.
