I just learned of Sophos' Home Editions of UTM and XG on last Friday (10/6) so I'm still scratching the surface here so I apologize if this seems like a completely ignorant post. Seems like there's some overlap between both products, but I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around what is or isn't included.
Sophos UTM is available as a full version, free for home users with up to 50 IP addresses. This license is for private use only and may not be used commercially. Home use licenses nearing expiration can be renewed seven days prior to the actual expiration date.
I've been warned that I am about to reach the 50 IP limit in UTM Home, so I'm going to look to migrate to XG Home edition. Here's my plan. Create a VM with 4 network ports (current UTM device has 4) build a config that looks similar to my UTM (network objects, IP addresses on interfaces, reserved DHCP addresses, rules etc)

i just installed and activated my Home Edition of Sophos UTM. I saw that the license works for three years till the activation date. My question is what happens when the license expires? Can I just 'order' a new one and activate it? And how long will the Home Edition be supported, I don't know any other enterprise software that provides such a ...
My Sophos 9.7 (9.713-19) home license, beside being valid for 3 years, is "regularly" expiring (every 1-2 months) as shown after I login to the UTM web admin. I suspect it could be due to the fact that my network is now having regularly more than 50 IPs (between 55-59) as it is serving a pretty advance smart home and also depending on people present at home (up to 5 persons).
Thank you for the response. The license I am tying to use is the Sophos Home Commercial Use edition. This is a Sophos Home license that is available to employees of companies that have purchased Sophos Commercial products. This is the equivalent to Sophos Home Premium in features, but available to employees at no charge. Thank you.

Hello together, since upgrading my virtual UTM Home Edition system to 9.4 I notice a high CPU load. With 9.3 the CPU load was at an average of 6 %. Now it's near With 9.3 the CPU load was at an average of 6 %.
