I rented my house out for a while and had a redirection and a couple of things still got delivered to the house over the course of a few years. Well I got the letter from Royal Mail today confirming my redirection for another year and the amount taken (£50). But on the back of the letter in the small print, it is still talking about 'a maximum of 2 years'.
Seems it's well worth contacting a consumer champion if you cannot get it resolved via ROyal Mail Customer Services. I really hope this is/was a one-off (although it does say "We've had a huge number of complaints over the years about the "hit and miss' service from Royal Mail redirection."). Also, hope that the service has improved since 2013.
Is it legal for me to ask Royal Mail to redirect all my mail to my address in the U.S or do you know if thicker envelopes with cards and/or PIN letters are on the list of items they can’t redirect? I’m mostly asking because I don’t want my 2 banks and credit cards accounts to be flagged if Royal Mail return items to them due to my temporary mail transfer.
Does Royal Mail Re-Directs letters such as HMRC , DVLA or dwp to a New address ? I expect some letters from HMRC but I have shifted the place and am staying temporarily till I get a permanent place . When I called HMRC ,was told that they already posted letters to my old address.
