Many Boots stores order meds on demand so whilst they report "out of stock" they can still actually fill your prescription. You need to speak to pharmacist and ask them if they can source your meds. I know this from first hand knowledge.
Hello folks! While spending multiple evenings searching the Boots stock checker and calling local pharmacies, I started thinking that a tool which could check the stock of /all/ the Boots in the UK at once would be extremely useful - and that if no one had made one then maybe I should try to learn enough coding to build such a tool.
There is an awesome stock checker website set up by a clever member of this sub that you can filter by med and dose and it will show you all the boots showing stock on a map. IMO it’s easier to use than their postcode method. You get a whole overview with his. It’s on the pinned post I think.
I've also been in the position needing to find some indy pharmacies when my local Boots stores didn't have any in stock - I recently made an app with a pharmacy finder where you can search your town and see a list of indy & chain pharmacies alongside their contact numbers - hope it helps! :D https://www.adhd.directory
The boots pharmacy told me they’ve taken Elvanse off the stock checker and it’s just a case of go in and try your look. Too many people were being told there was stock online or over the phone and turning up disappointed.
Boots' own website says that "availability is an indication only." I've found my local Boots just don't bother to update the prescription stock checker, for Elvanse at least, because they often end up dispensing it all the same day they manage to get it in.
Used boots stock checker and called ~30 non-boots pharmacies. Seems like people will have to be moved to different medications until it gets resolved. Reply reply More replies
Here are some things that other people found helpful in other posts in regards to potentially finding some remaining stock of Elvanse : use Boots pharmacy online stock check function. Search for "lisdexamfetamine". Look for pharmacies at various postcodes and various cities. I got some yesterday this way.
Eg. 60mg M5 3TP - shows available on boots site at Regents Park Salford (that is the postcode of the boots) not showing on your map. I did have another one same area that’s the reverse but can’t work out which one now. Edit: ok yeah but Manchester Piccadilly available on your app but not on boots site, 60mg same.
