As the title says, my last few posts have been image based and the images aren't visible to me and others. It just shows a reddit link (reddit.com) that leads back into the same post with the same link. My girlfriend sees the same thing and I don't know what's wrong.
I’ve often called two experiences that relate in this way an “all-up/one-up” pair, i.e. the gallery is the all-up view of images, and the modal for one of the images is the one-up view of an item from the all-up view.
I like new reddit but hate when there is multiple images... here is a typical experience. click on image it pops open the new in tab window image says "click to see full view" clicking that opens a new tab after viewing image you gotta close that tab then return back at original screen, click next and repeat from step 2

If you posted images there without an account and can find them again (although I'm not sure how you'd do that, unless you saved the links or can find them in your reddit history), you should probably save them ASAP, upload them elsewhere, and edit your post/comment to include the new link.

Those are different types of posts. The text from the text post tab will not add to the images from the image tab, and the images will not add to a text post. It is one or the other. Unless the subreddit allows image in text post. The instructions to that are below, but you can only have one image in that type of post
