In Hogwarts Mystery, there are three clubs (Sphinx, Dragon and Hippogriff) for students to join. I didn't think about it before, but… in new Dragon club side quest, McGonagall mentioned that clubs have been there from 1800s, and Hogwarts Legacy is set in 1800s, so maybe they kinda hinted at it being a feature?

Right now, the point of clubs is the extra rewards. In addition to progress rewards, you get tappies at ranks 2, 5, and 10 that give energy, food, and coins (and at Rank 10, those tappies have been datamined to give books as well).
A reply from this topic makes me question this. So far in canon all the clubs or teams for such activities in Hogwarts are Houses' Quidditch teams and Gobstones club, maybe even the DA and Slugs' Club if we stretch it.

Additionally there's probably some clubs that exist for a few years before their popularity fizzles out again, like knitting, climbing, divination, hogwarts explorers, student newspaper, swimming, electronics, ... Dueling club and the DA would fall under the same category.
