The Asura marriage (Sanskrit: आसुरविवाह, romanized: Āsuravivāha) is a non-righteous form of marriage in Hinduism. It is a form of marriage where a bridegroom receives a maiden, after having given of his own free will as much wealth as he can afford, to the bride, and her kinsmen.

Eight different types of Vivaah have been documented in the ancient Indian scripture Manu Smriti III.20-34. Only two types (Brahma Vivaah & Gandharva Vivaah) are prevailant these days. Other types of marriages existed in olden days and few were even followed until last century, but slowly they were abolished from the society.
