I’ll be starting a job in Rego and I go to a gym there too. But I know living there and seeing it 24/7 is different. Realistically for commuting to work and my rent budget, it’s very likely my bf and I could move there. Is there anything we should know? Dangerous parts? Date spots? Great vet clinics for our cat?
So I wanted to ask if anyone has had experience living in Rego Park and if they would recommend it for a single male in their 20s. My main factors are price and having a quiet safe neighborhood that is connected to the fun parts of the city.
This is what Rego Park looks like today. It's a nice neighborhood. There are single young people moving to places like Forest Hills and Rego Park. It has more of a tri-state vibe than the transplant neighborhoods. Whatever you're looking for NYC is welcoming.

We just moved to Rego Park a month ago but we are generally familiar with Queens. It is safe to walk around at night. Commute to midtown east is fairly easy, there’s two local trains that can take around 45 mins door-to-door (depends on how close you are to 63rd drive station).
We’re checking out apartments in Rego Park this whole weekend. The area seems pretty safe, very walkable, convenient and not a complete nightmare to park (wife drives a company car).
