Hello all, I am looking to buy a car from motorpoint. This is the first car I am going to buy that is going to be for a substantial amount (£18k).
Motorpoint Vs Manufacturers Warrantee I just bought a Citroen from Motorpoint The car was just over a year old so I asked the salesman whether it had it's first service (to maintain its warrantee), he told me it had because they did it.
Re service history - I always thought of cars with a service book and stamps/invoices et cetera having had older cars. I asked the staff branch regarding service history and he said it is recorded online on a database and could see the car had a service in 2021 and 2022 with VW and a service with motorpoint when they got in 2023. Motorpoint will give you a minimal and obscenely low trade-in value. They are not really interested in taking them, hence the low offers. You'd really be much better off by selling privately. As for haggling I'd be amazed if you managed to get anything out of them, but don't let that stop you trying after all it's all part n parcel of the fun n games when buying a 'new' car. I did a lot of research and found the car I wanted online with Motorpoint. I am thinking of buying a car from Motorpoint (Derby). The salesman said that the price on the windscreen is the fixed price & they don't discount. At this point we were just talking in general rather than on a specific car. Has anyone got experience of if this is the case, or have you had a discount? Motorpoint have said they will give me £1600 if it has a valid MOT (they need at least 3 months) and I fix the exhaust. Now to do that it'll cost me £300 for a MOT and a new exhaust to be fitted. (I've got a price from my local garage). Which in real terms means Ill be getting £1300 for my car.

Co-incidently, we have inquired about a new Scenic from Motorpoint and they have been completely clear as to the age and remaining warranty, without even me asking.
