I then set MS Edge browsing cookie preferences again, went to EDF login and set the 1st party essentials on, I was able to login successfully. I exited, closed the tab, added a tab and logged in again. Now for my default browser, Chrome. Edit: performed similar actions with Chrome, now OK.
The EDF app hasn't shown the account balance for a while now, it only shows the monthly direct debit amount. I have raised this as feed back to EDF, along with other issues relating to the app. To be honest the app has become pointless, it provides no useful information. Even my tariff details in the info section were wrong!
Tried to log in to my EDF account today, but must have forgotten my password. So, I reset it and it still claimed I had the wrong password. i have tried this about 6 or 7 times, and it still won't work.
EDF completed the swop form the old to new system in May and I have had bills with the new account number on them. On logging in to My Account I only get the old account details and this says Closed. I contacted EDF Customer Service and their advice was to reboot .
The spin EDF have put on this is that it is an upgrade to benefit the customers. Certainly doesn't sound like it to me and I am still waiting for my June reading invoice and payment which would ordinarily have been completed last week based on a 1 June submission of the reading..
It mentions EDF are moving to a new system and invites me to click some links to setup a password for my new account. The links in the email all refer to a domain "ct.sendgrid.net" which is a bulk email api provider which appears (from a quick search) to be linked with some phising emails.

EDF decided to leave the off peak meter alone and go ahead with the installation of the smart meter for the main one. On the day (May 22) of the installation the engineers decided to replace both the meters because they mentioned that the it was in the work order.
I have my Gas from EDF and the account is set for the method of payment to be direct debit whole bill amount and EDF agree that this is case. Usually I submit a reading around the 27th Month and they produce a bill and the whole amount is taken by them direct debit 14 days latter.
Thanks to everyone for their replies. I raised a complaint with EDF who followed it up by a phone call. They say they migrated over to a new system and in his words "it didn't go quite as planned". Data is now coming through though the missing dates still have "estimate" . I did try the setting up both of the two apps - Bright and Loop.
