When you get forge you first have to launch forge t=in the minecraft launcher when you at the minecraft main screen, after that go to your start for windows xp-7 and for windows 8 put your courser on the top right or bottom right coner then search %appdata% then click on .minecraft and your mod folder is there
Vanilla Minecraft does not have a "mods" folder. Most likely case is that you need to install Forge Mod Loader, which you can download here. If you do already have Forge and the folder is still missing, it may have been deleted by mistake. You should be able to create a new folder in the .minecraft directory, and call it "mods".
Ok, so, I've searched EVERYWHERE in my .minecraft folder, but I just can't find the Mods folder. Please help me.
Assuming you are using windows, press Win + R on the keyboard, then enter %appdata% and click .minecraft. If forge is installed, there should be a folder called “mods” in there :) If you are not using windows, open the game and click resource packs.
I downloaded windows 10 on my computer and regular minecraft 1.7.10 and want to get some mods. The problem is that I cant find my .minecraft folder.
1. press "start" and search %appdata% and then open roaming>.minecraft there 2. or you can just open whatever folder on the pc and write in the address line C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft and then you will get to the .minecraft folder!
Regardless of the version and whether Forge/other modloaders support separate mod folders it is always much better to create separate profiles with their own game directories as this will ensure that saves and configuration files are separate - loading a world in the wrong version will almost certainly corrupt it, which goes for vanilla as well (upgrading is fine but then you can't downgrade ...
%appdata% with the % still there and press enter, or return (depending on keyboard) You should see a folder named Roaming, enter it. Now you should see .minecraft, again open it. scroll past the XP to find what to do next.--Windows XP-- Go into your start menu and look at 'All Programs'
Secondly, the mods folder is located in your .minecraft directory, among the other folders you can use with mods (such as config). Thirdly, if one doesn't exist, you can always create one, however the first point still stands, you need Forge for mods to be able to be loaded into the game.
You're probably looking at the wrong minecraft folder. Make sure it's the right one which can be found by going to C drive -> Users -> Your name -> Appdata -> Roaming (you may not have this) -> .minecraft -> Bin folder. This is how someone using windows 7 would find their bin folder. I'm not sure for vista and xp.
