When most people think of "Huns" and "Mongols", they are thinking of Atilla's empire of the mid 400's and Genghis Khan's Mongolian Empire of the 1200's. Since there's a good 800 years between them, obviously the answer is "no" on that level.

The Huns were not known to be confederated in any way and no sub-tribes of the Huns are known. Very little, possibly nothing, is known of the Hunnish language.

This question seems good, but the context is a little off. What exactly began in the 13th century? It is not that unusual that settled armies beat pastoral armies. See e.g. the early Ming against the Mongols. What is a bit unusual is that the Goths could make a living in zhe steppe. Nomads usually survive such campaigns by retreating and waiting until the enemy army is running out of food, and then returning to the status quo ante.
However, when gunpowder made large infantry units the dominant arm, the situation reversed. Suddenly the relatively underpopulated pastoral regions became power vaccums. The Mongols managed to keep some semblance of a country together during this period, but the Manchurians held more strategic coastal territory, and thus weren't so lucky.
