Santander online banking is down this morning. There have been multiple reports on downdetector.co.uk and on the Santander X site. Santander say they are aware and are working on it but also that the app is working fine. I can concur with that having just logged into the app.
Santander online banking is down this morning. I have been using the app (old one, and the new Beta version) without issues all morning. Santander is my hub account for many regular savers, and for shuttling money to and from accounts that need minimum monthly deposits.
My cheque book for Santander says: When filling out forms for Direct Debits, Standing orders ect, use the following address: Santander PO BOX 382 Prescot Street London E1 8RP My account was opened on-line.
Santander is my main account and I usually log in daily. Most times I use the app (old version usually but sometimes also the new). Occasionally, I have to use online banking, e.g. to change an SO. I use Chrome for online banking, and the app is on iPhone. I can’t recall any login or other usability issues.
Santander has gone for speed of login and scarfised some security All that is required is your user ID and you 5 digit security number plus sometimes OTP sent to phone (online banking) Once app is setup only requires 5 digit security number
Thats because Santander split Business and Corporate accounts when migrating across from A&L where big corporates had the same online banking as small business. Business accounts (t/o below 250k) were migrated onto the 'retail' platform alongside personal banking.
Santander was forcing me to use 2FA to login using Firefox on Linux Mint 21.3. Sandi was hiding too. I turned off uBlock Origin for that site, and added www.santander.co.uk to my exclusion list for the pop up blocker.
OTP by email for FPS payments in Santander online banking now available for EXISTING PAYEES. Started working once my (mobile) phone numbers had been removed (via telephone banking). Can't comment about online shopping payments with card. I found it arbitrary to get Santander to allow OTP by email.
On my laptop, I have problems with Santander online banking using Chrome, but not with Firefox.
