Hi I live in Cornwall and use Octopus variable tariff and a smartmeter. The times quoted in writing to me by Octopus for day rate are 00:30 - 03:30 and 08:30 - 22:30 and for night rate are 03:30 - 08:30 and 22:30 - 00:30. Can’t decide whether it is worth signing up to a new Octopus 16 month fixed rate or not? I like their “no exit fees” policy and I’m also not averse to getting smart meters at some point too to access their other products.
I am sorry Octopus energy customers were informed that they were changing their direct debit provider to GoCardless. This is why the DD in this case was amended to the name GC Octopus Energy on the 11th March 25.
Octopus keeps insisting our meter will stop working soon and we need a smart meter. What will happen if we don't agree?

Very few Octopus customers seem to realise that since they became the largest energy supplier in the country they are no longer the same company that made them an attractive proposition in the first place. They don't appear to offer attractive tariffs any longer and are no longer willing to compete for business.
Had an email from Octopus today about their new 15m fixed rate tariff which they claim works out cheaper than the new Oct.1st flexible cap. Any thoughts?
