Thank you again, but I don't think you understood what I meant. Autocad release a hardware compatibility list with each release (ie the graphics card or chip), unfortunately what has always disgusted me is that the hardware acceleration (graphics) drivers for any said graphics card only last for 2 issues max (ie card might be on the list for 2016 and 2017 versions and disappear in 2018).
I am a new NanoCAD user. The ACAD drawings I import display and print a STANDARD font rather than the ROMANS font it was originally drawn. I did download the RomanS font to windows 10 but still have the same problem. The RomanS font is shown in the text style box when I type in NanoCAD but displays STANDARD font. Any suggestions would be ...
when you work in AutoCad, it creates dwl and dwl2 files, they appear with file saving and disapper when program closed. nanoCAD does not create them. Probably, your own program can't find that files, so can't open dxf for reading?
NanoCAD 5 free does come with full layer control (exactly the same with AutoCAD 2016), it does snap the same as AutoCAD (the issue is that there is no SNAP command so you have to go via a dialogue box), Polylines, rectangles, blocks all identical. Any AutoCAD 2016 user will be fully conversant with the minor differences in half an hour!
Im new to NanoCad and to autocad style operations -- I've been stuck in LibreCad for several years, and finally gave up on that when I could'nt get anything done! Ive got my drawing completed, and I know this is gonna sound real stupid, but Ive seen a lot of good looking cad prints with borders and title blocks and stuff to make them look nice and professional.
Draftsight was good, but is no longer free, and nanoCAD v.5 is a very good substitute. The resemblance to AutoCAD is a plus. Also, there are many v.5 users on this forum so, if you need v.5 answers, simply identify the version your question applies to.
There must be something I am missing in the basics of the set up. Again...nanocad plus or pro (currently using free trial now) no issues, and in Autocad no issues with this. Thanks anyone who can take the time to explain things to me I just don't get. Aaron. Like This; Quote; MultiQuote; Edit
I am a retired AutoCad instructor and i am very grateful to have the use of the free licensed version of NanoCAD 5.0 for my personal use. Very close to ACAD features and that's great. However I'm having a really difficult time adding dimensions to my floor plan drawing.
I think this happens to me occasinally when I have worked a project in Autocad 2009 (I have this version) and continue working in nanoCAD, which I use currently. It may have occured to me on projects created in nanoCAD from scratch, but either that's rare, or maybe that's not the case at all. It's a bit bothering, but not frequent.
Exceptional free CAD software. I have only two problems: 1) When I save an existing dxf file (Autocad R14 - 2004) it is saved as default in Autocad 2010 dxf format. This file, created by NanoCad, can not open again with NanoCad. The software crash, and don't let me to open this file.
