Currently I use SSMS 17, however Gearhost, the website I am trying to deploy my database to, currently only use SQL Server version 13, which I believe to be SSMS 16.
All previous version of SQL Server Express were available in both web and full downloads. But I cannot find full download of SQL Server® 2016 Express. Does it exist? Asked the same question on MSDN
Today, I installed SQL Server Management studio 18.3.1, and the program itself appears to be 32-bit, verified by the 7-zip method, given in How to check if an EXE is 32-bit or 64-bit on Windows 10, reporting CPU = x86 and it is installed in C:\Program Files (x86).
If you want to export / save all data of a database into a .sql file, do this: Right click on the database in SQL Server Management Studio; Tasks-> Generate Scripts; Script entire database and all database objects; Next; Click - Advanced; Scroll down to Types of data to script and set from Schema only -> Schema and data-> Ok
1) Open SQL Server Management Studio 2) Select your database in the Object Explorer 3) Right click > Tasks > Generate Scripts. 4) Select only stored procedures to be scripted out. 5) Following the wizard through the steps; on the next screen, pick option Single file per object and define a directory where to put those files:
The setting change which has been advised in Diego's accepted answer is perfect if we want to enable this option permanently in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS). Here permanently means the new setting will get applied automatically to all future query sessions in SSMS. This is usually not the case.
You can use TOAD for SQL Server. It has export as Excel. This is better then csv because it preserves the data type. This works even in trial mode and after the trial expired. I use Toad just for the export to excel. Another option is to use "Azure Data Studio". It's free, and has save as excel option.
I believe that if you install SQL Server Management Express, you can't manage all the objects you can in the version you get from installing from the media. For example, you can't manage integration services or analysis services with management express.
Sadly, while trying to work I could not find SQL Server Management Studio 2008. Is there a way to download SQL Server Management Studio 2008 separately and install only that component? Since in the past I installed SQL Server Management Studio 2005 with a whole new instance of SQL Server 2005 and had couple of instances, and it was a bit messy.
Copied database.mdf and database_log.ldf from the above mentioned folder (SQL 2012), then transferred those 2 files to a new server with different version (SQL Express 2014) of SQL Management Studio. – Vignesh Chinnaiyan
