Carved from a former coal tip, Parc Penallta is well known as the "place with the horse". As one of the largest figurative earth sculptures in the country, "Sultan the Pit Pony" attracts visitors from far afield who come to see and admire him.
Wonderful pond with birds and wildlife and bridges crossing over to explore. Plenty of camp sites and picnic and benches to admire the views. Highly recommend on site cafe as it is well run and has plenty of savoury and sweet food products. Often busy so get in early especially hot days for ice cream. Outside seats were dog friendly.

Parc Pentallta Is a great place to enjoy a picnic. There are great photo opportunities with Sultan the Pit Pony which is a 200 mt long sculpture paraded on the valleys landscape. The Park is a little secluded, but on the day we visited there were lots of families enjoying quality time together and people walking their dogs.
