Here in Tennessee there are lots of Toyota Police cars. The Nashville Metro Police department uses black and gray unmarked for all it's detectives in homicide and anything not marked. And some of the smaller towns use the Prius decked out with all the PPV tools ie spotlights, light bars, cage and even push bars.
All the one Toyota dealer is telling me, with regards to this new '25 Camry, is that I basically have to select from a list of (currently) 4 cars that they'll going to be getting later this spring, so already she's asking if I'd be willing to take a different trim, color, etc. than what I want. Simple answer: NO. I want what I want.
Why not just let someone else EAT that depreciation and watch the reliability reports for a few years while the new cars lose 50% of their value and buy 3 years later for half price. I worked on cars my whole life, so that perspective is the basis of this post.
Yes, all of our Toyota's will pop up an alert if it doesn't detect a hand on the steering wheel but it's pretty rare. The Car Care Nut on YouTube is our favorite Toyota guy....master mechanic and does reviews on the models...let's see if he reviewed the 2025 Camry... YES! He's honest, even tells things he does not like about the cars he reviews.
Unfortunately, only a plug-in hybrid or full EV will have a large enough battery to support heat for the traction battery. Camry is not available as a plug-in hybrid. Hopefully, Toyota will realize they need to sell cars people want to drive that are dependable in all weather.
To the best of my knowledge all Toyota hybrid cars/CUVs are eCVT. You'll have to focus on a specific model/year and check the specs for it AKA: MI-Silver-HL & MI-HL - If I don't respond to an ignorant or asinine post I'm ignoring you - not agreeing with you.
Toyota extended warranties (Vehicle Service Agreements) on USED cars must be purchased with the car. The above discussion is about NEW cars. For a new car, you can buy the VSA from any dealer as long as the car is still within the 3/36 Basic Warranty period.
Many dealer financed cars have those GPS trackers, paid for by the finance company. It is possible that third party lenders pay the dealer to install them, I don't know. This helps the lender if they need to repo the car. I don't think you will find them on new cars where someone pays cash.
