It provides staff with secure access to email, chat, online meetings, file sharing and more helping teams work together more easily, whether they are in the same organisation or across different parts of the NHS.
Over 1.7m healthcare professionals and staff across the NHS use NHSmail to communicate with each other and with patients, safely and securely. NHSmail is a gold service , meaning it is available and supported 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
To get NHSmail, care homes need to make an online application at portal.nhs.net/Registration#/careprovider. The form should be completed by one person on behalf of each site. Organisations are given a shared mailbox for each care home to use by people that need to message the organisation (rather a named person).
