I am looking at various cloud accounting systems for a client and am trying out Xero. Is there a way to override Xero's automatic VAT calculation on purchase invoices where the purchase invoice and Xero VAT amount are out by a penny or so because of rounding? At the moment it seems that I either have to fudge the net amount or have the wrong VAT amount - surely that can't be right? thanks very ...
Question for newbie on Xero I am new to Xero, struggling with opening balance sheet retained earnings. I am trying to correct an opening balance sheet to match filed accounts. No massive differences, but I have a figure in 'current year earnings' and an equal and opposite figure in 'retained earnings' that I need to try and get rid of.
Xero calls payments on account "overpayments". Yes they have been moaned about this. If you post correctly they appear on the statements and when you post invoices you can allocate the money received in advance. Us, our clients and I assume 500,000 businesses using Xero have no major problems with the Xero sales ledger and purchase ledger. (Yes the credit note/matching is a whinge.)
