I have built the Connoisseur Models starter loco kit and used the recommended Slaters finescale wheels 7842W. The width of the axles and wheels on the Peco bullhead track appears to be too small and is giving electrical drive problems as the engine moves from side to side when going along the track.
Most of our driving, bogie and tender wheels require an Allen Key to tighten the screw which holds the wheel in place. There are three sizes: most O Gauge wheels require X78001 (1.27mm A/F); most Gauge 1 and Gauge 3 wheels require X98001 (2mm A/F) and some smaller O Gauge wheels (those noted as having 1/8th inch diameter axles) require X78003 ...

I include full details of the Slater’s wheels required in my instruction sheets and this information can also be used with the other wheel manufactures to select an equivalent wheel from their ranges. Slater’s wheels consist of a turned steel tyre and the spokes are injection moulded glass reinforced oil resistant nylon.
In fact you could almost call the 31mm gauge standard "Scale7 - 2" If you considered going down that road then you could easily get your Scale7 wheelsets from Slaters and push them in by 2mm (yet another peculiar British combination - exact scale wheels on narrow gauge track. ) Jim.

Slaters sell a gauge-3 4’ 6" 13 Spoke Driving Wheel for a UK loco, which works out to the equivalent of 48.314" in Fn3. So I ordered a wheelset with a gauge-1 (45mm) axle instead of the usual g-3.
