The choice system in The Alters is one of the more impressive of recent years, with branching paths that lead into further branching paths. In this guide, we break down all the endings we experienced and how we got there. Important: When playing as Jan in the finale, the conversation choices with the Rescue Team can change the ending.
The other branches and Alters are the Miner, the Botanist, the Refiner, the Worker, the Doctor, the Shrink and, the Guard. plus one secret Alter you can get at the end of Act 2. Alters wont do any work before 9 am so use that time for social stuff if you need or to do some small quick things for the day ahead.

Throughout the game, Jan and his Alters will face many decisions, some with drastic consequences. In this guide, we list every choice we found in the game and the outcome of each decision. Many times, when talking with other characters, you will notice colored bubbles that appear near their head.
To get one of the best endings, you need to learn at least two lessons. There are many factors that influence the ending. This list is probably not complete, but here is what we found out: Does Jan swap with Jan Botanyk in the finale? Whose side does Jan take at key moments - Lena's, Lucas's or Maxwell's?
