The city was built for about 100,000 people. There’s not much room for urban sprawl, because of the costs of logging and clearing trees to build housing. Some areas of Duluth like Gary new Duluth and up in hermantown have newish development and are attempting to sprawl further. With that being said. The demand for housing here is TIGHT.
Golfing lester river's lake 9 is the best value golf in duluth. Drink as much Fitgers and Lake Superior brewery beer as possible and try to get to the lake superior brewery in west duluth for a growler and a sample or two of beer. i might miss this place
I lived in the south 8 years before I moved to Duluth. I'd take a Duluth winter over a southern summer any day. I grew up in western washington. When I moved to Duluth everyone said winter is gloomy, but it's not compared to where I grew up. When it's not snowing, it is sunny. February is just really cold and really bright.
It won't be unique to Duluth, but Duluth/Superior have a great assortment of courses. Its cheap to get into, and a lot of courses are essentially a nice hike with throwing discs mixed in. I'm always open to introducing new people to the sport, and have plenty of discs to loan out if you'd like to give it a try with no financial commitment.

Duluth Grill has a fantastic and creative menu, especially for breakfast (more farm-to-table again), but you'll likely wait 45 min or so for seating. Lots of options in the Duluth area. Take a day trip up to Gooseberry Falls and Split Rock Lighthouse, then stop at Castle Danger Brewery on the way back for refreshments, lawn games, live music ...
My perfect Duluth day would be a hike around Chester Creek (fast hike and very pretty), lunch or dinner at Va Bene in one of their rooms with a water view, and walk along the water by Va Bene/Fitgers. Maybe grab some coffee from Yellow Bike in Fitgers and sit by the water. Duluth Grill and At Sara’s Table are other great restaurants.
Nice part about Duluth is you can get it all done in like a weekend. I'd recommend going up to Gooseberry falls for a day hike and stopping at Castle Danger for a beer afterwards. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT go to 5th street tacos. Easily the worst taco I've ever had (also the most minnesotan taco too as it has no flavor).
You still, unbelievably, can't catch your breath. When you move to Duluth, that seat belt squeezes for about a year and a half to two years. The pace of life here is much, much slower. I'd say for me that it feels kind of like a secret hideout. Like a fort you would build as a kid. My friends told me before I moved here that Duluth was clique-y.
