I downloaded the O&O ShutUp10 v1.8.1421 executable (OOSU10.exe) and submitted it to VirusTotal with the following result: PS - ShutUp10 is only available as a portable version.

Is it safe? Yes and no. Yes - as long as you stick to recommended green settings. No - If you edit orange or red settings. Unfortunately, Windows Update is a red area setting. It's unsafe and not even ShutUp10 recommends it. Yes - it's a very useful program. No - not to block updates.
I can only speak of O&O ShutUp10 since I've been using them for a few years. So far, I haven't encountered any errors or Windows instability when using it. I disable everything except for the ones marked with a "!".
I have always used O&O ShutUp 10++ to disable as much telemetry / jank services as possible. I know that OOSU10 is supposed to work on Windows 11 as well, but I remeber having heard someone talk about a FOSS alternative to it that was only built for Windows 11 (which I would prefer).
As part of this tweaking I came across the O&O ShutUp application. I want to apply some of the tweaks offered but I have one issue before I go and do that — if I make a mistake there is a "Revert Changes" option in O&O ShutUp. If I use that option what does it do? Does Revert restore all settings to Windows defaults?
Windows major updates reset any settings, made by O&O, they want. It doesn't know that O&O has made the changes; just wants the OS a certain way and will revert any changes made.
