Howdens is coming in around £6.5k and DIY-kitchens is coming in around £4.5k (not sure if I've included everything required in the DIY-Kitchens as their website is not very user friendly...e.g. I might have missed of some trim pieces, plinths etc but I believe I have the main cabinets etc covered so let's just say the DIY-K is £5k).
Sorry yes hollow core. But don't get stuck on Howdens you have to have a trade account with them & I have always found the doors they have are cheaper elswhere. But if you are having them fitted then the fitter could get them for you or at least the price.
Howdens - over 100 kitchens fitted so far and counting. The biggest advantage with this company is that if there’s a change of mind, a damaged part or anything similar - I can go straight to the local depot and get a replacement which is in stock on the shelf at least 90% of the time. They’ll normally supply out of stock items in 2-3 days.
I did and Howdens is coming out about £250 cheaper. It's either Altino gloss from DIY kitchens or Howdens Glendoven. Howdens is 18mm carcass. However is the Duropal worktop from DIY kitchens better than the one supplied by Howdens? I do like the square edge profile on the Howdens worktop.
I've not had any experience with Howdens flooring but I do have the flooring from B&Q, only difference is mine is the New England rattan than Kolberg, so the boards themselves are the same just a slightly different shade on the finish.
I have got a quote from howdens through my builder it is the cheapest so far out of Wren, Magnet and few local kitchen shops. But it still seems a tad bit high. So armed with the quote I went over to Diy kitchens and tried to add everything like to like..
Howdens are reliable and they fit their niche perfectly. Im not going to knock them because they are easy to deal with, apart from on pricing, which I find really, really annoying when I can't get transparent pricing either and different branches are perfectly happy to screw each other.
I've just paid for a Howdens Kitchen last Saturday. It is an extension being built and I was through my builders account, basically they asked me who my builder was, and I gave the details that i had got from my builder. I then carried out all the design meetings and measurements with Howdens.
Hi - would really appreciate anyones experience of either company to help us decide. We have very similar plans for both and similar prices for the Chelford (Howdens) and Chester (Wickes) ranges. We are keen on the Wickes range including the walk in corner larder, soft close etc - but conflicted as Howdens seem to be far more reputable.
Old topic, I know, but we just got Howdens to price match our DIY quote (13p cheaper haha). While we’re still deciding who to go with, as DIY kitchens is of significant better quality according to many sources and video reports, the kitchen above shouldn’t cost more than £3-4k excluding worktops and appliances.
