Tarsadia Foundation is a family foundation that has been active in service and philanthropic giving over the past decade. We support 100+ partners working to unleash human potential in communities across the globe.
Tarsadia Foundation was founded in 2009 by entrepreneur and philanthropist, BU Patel. BU grew up in a small village in Gujarat, India, where he worked as a farmer and put himself through college before relocating his family to Zambia in search of economic opportunity.
Since its inception, the Tarsadia Foundation has set out to break cycles of poverty and help those in need. Today, the foundation supports 100+ partners that collectively impact over 16 million people through opportunity creation and financial inclusion programs, food and housing security, access to mental health services and more.
Tarsadia Foundation expands its grantee portfolio across the U.S. and India, supporting 100+ partners tackling systemic inequities and unleashing human potential across the globe.

But as entrepreneurs, we are determined to bring people together to achieve bolder, more sustainable outcomes and help communities thrive.
This year, in April of 2023, twenty eight members of the Tarsadia family joined the foundation on a week-long exploration and service trip to Japan. Visiting Tokyo, Hakone, and Kyoto, the group was immersed in Japan’s unique culture and ethos, while experiencing Tarsadia Foundation’s impact pillars in action.
