Die 1036 geweihte Busdorfkirche, ein Achteckbau mit vier Flügeln, entstand nach dem Vorbild der Grabeskirche zu Jerusalem. Bischof Meinwerk ließ sie für ein von ihm gegründetes Kanonikerstift erbauen. Von dem ursprünglichen Bau sind noch die beiden Rundtürme (die einst die Front flankierten) und der Westflügel erhalten.
