MyGTCS is your personalised and secure web portal from GTC Scotland that's only available to teachers and college lecturers with Provisional or Full Registration with GTC Scotland. All information is stored securely on our database until such time as a user chooses to unsubscribe or de-register.
It is a legal requirement for all teachers employed in Scottish schools to be registered, and part of the agreed national terms and conditions for college lecturers employed in Scottish colleges; we administer that register.
GTC Scotland will launch a new MyGTCS platform in August 2025 to all provisionally registered teachers and their supporters. This will be followed by a rollout to all teachers from January 2026.
The online tool for members of the public, lets you check the registration status of any teacher who is registered with us.
The new MyGTCS will help to transform how registrants use our digital services by streamlining multiple platforms into one, creating a more consistent experience, simplifying the processes registrants need to complete and reducing bureaucracy.
The Standard for Full Registration is the foundation of the Professional Standards and is the benchmark of competence required of all registered teachers in Scotland.
