I've entered the reg and make onto DVLA's Vehicle Enquiry online Service only to be told; Vehicle details could not be found ! They've got lots of paperwork, new keepers supplement, service history old MOT's, 6 months tax, signed and dated receipt etc.
I have just checked the reg on the DVLA vehicle checker and it still hasnt updated and is showing as untaxed. 1. I cant believe that something like that does not get updated instantly these days! It does say at the bottom that if you have taxed in the past 5 days it might not be up to date, unbelievable. 2. Can I still get done for being 'untaxed'?
The DVLA does not record information by keepers, it records information by vehicles. Their database is designed to identify keepers from vehicle details. Just paid a deposit on a car, subject to HPI check. Came home and did the HPI check and it says: Data currently held on the National Mileage Register (NMR) indicates that there may be a mileage discrepancy on this vehicle. It says that on 14-Apr-11 the NMR have a record of 11,000 miles. Then on 21-Apr-11 the DVLA have a record of 112,000 miles.
GF59 UZO is insured but the vehicle in question is listed as OTHER? i would check the log book against the vehicles VIN under the bonnet? if the vehicle was out of sort from a description to insurers then it wouldnt get insured surely? if you have doubts over the vehicle then get an rac or AA inspection done on it at the forecourt £120+ though so make sure your really interested in buying it ...
First page 'tax your vehicle', designed to look like the .gov site, straight in with card details. Intended to scam busy people trying to pay their car tax. I guess those jumping to the defence of it have some interest in it.
