The sac utility imports and exports Microsoft SQL Server 2005 surface area settings for an existing SQL Server instance rather than all the setting of a SQL Server installation. In this case, I think you could install SQL Server from command prompt. Command prompt installation scripts allow you to use the parameters listed in the Parameters section in the following link.

That's a good trick to know and I suspect that will work well when everything is SQL 2012 but I'm actually still having a problem removing 2 particular DAC registrations on a 2008 machine as noted above.

My first mistake was trying tro install SQL Server 2008 (64-bit) 180 day evaluation. It never worked, couldn't get it to connect in SQL Managment Studio. There were always different errors, the main one seems to be :
