You can apply to a county court to claim money you’re owed by a person or business. This is known as making a court claim. It often used to be known as taking someone to a ‘small claims court’.

Starting a Part 7 Claim in the County Court. 5.1 (1) Subject to subparagraph (2), if a claim— (a) is started in the County Court under Part 7; (b) is a claim only for an amount of money, whether specified or unspecified; and
