What about when Companies House makes a mistake? I made a correct submission last week but there are some letters missing from the name of the PSC I removed on the filing showing at Companies House. The name was correct and the email confirmation was correct but they removed the first and last letter of her name and put a different effective date.

HMRC non-trading and Companies House dormant are not the same. A dormant company is always non-trading but a non-trading company is not dormant. A dormant company can even have a P&L to post (£34). I don't know what would happen if you attempted to iXBRL a set of accounts with a P&L but claim S480 audit exemption. Probably cause CH to explode.
On receipt of DS01 Companies House will register the information and place on public record, send an acknowledgement to the address shown on the form, publish a notice in The Gazette inviting objections as to why the company should not be struck off and send a notification to the company at its registered office address to enable it to object if the application is bogus.
