Click the Search engine used in the address bar dropdown; you should now see DuckDuckGo; select it. If you'd also like to use DuckDuckGo instead of Bing on the New Tab Page, click on the Search on new tabs uses search box or address bar dropdown and select Address bar. DuckDuckGo has had some controversies, but they're mostly pretty good, and are even the default search engine in the Tor Browser. With that said, I prefer Brave Search, due to the fact it has its own search index and doesn't rely on big tech or anyone else for search results, meanwhile DuckDuckGo relies on Microsoft and uses Bing's index.
