The Vicar of Dibley, which ran from 1994 to 1998, is an award winning comedy series starring Dawn French as the first female vicar of a little village called Dibley. While Dibley is fictional, the filming location of Turville in Buckinghamshire is very much real.

Sadly the village is fictional, but the good news is that the show was filmed in a real village, called Turville. Unlike Dibley, it's not located in Oxfordshire, but rather Buckinghamshire.
It is set in the fictional Oxfordshire village of Dibley, which is assigned a female vicar following the 1993 changes in the Church of England that permitted the ordination of women. Dawn French plays the lead role of vicar Geraldine Granger.
