Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS (Jammy Jellyfish) Select an image Ubuntu is distributed on three types of images described below. A full list of available files can be found below. If you need help burning these images to disk, see the Image Burning Guide.
Server install image The server install image allows you to install Ubuntu permanently on a computer for use as a server. It will not install a graphical user interface.
The source images contain the source code used to build Ubuntu. Some source package versions on this image may not match related binary images, depending on exactly when the images were built.
The combined install/live DVD allows you either to install Ubuntu-Studio permanently on a computer, or (by entering 'live' at the boot prompt) to try Ubuntu-Studio without changing your computer at all.
Ubuntu 25.10 (Questing Quokka) Daily Build Select an image Preinstalled desktop image The preinstalled-desktop image allows you to unpack a preinstalled version of Ubuntu onto a target device.

CD images for Ubuntu Base 22.04.5 LTS (Jammy Jellyfish)
The desktop image allows you to try Ubuntu without changing your computer at all, and at your option to install it permanently later. This type of image is what most people will want to use.
