When I go to scan documents, the target destination is set as a shared network file server. In the print management console I can see the IP address of the file server. So far so good. I did a network scan and located the fixed IP address of my local PC and put that in the printer console, but it doesn't work.

I found out how to scan my USB devices: Under SETTINGS, click on WINDOWS DEFENDER, then click on OPEN WINDOWS DEFENDER, and select CUSTOM scan (you'll see it listed under Quick and Full), then press SCAN. A pop-up will show the drives available for scanning. Check the boxes next to the USB devices you want scanned.

With regards to scanning for devices, were those devices in the list before you chose to scan for devices, or did they show up when you performed the scan? (Currently in practice) Have computers connected directly to the network, but any changes to configurations/profiles etc need to be done for each user on each computer (shared reception computers) meaning ~15 staff on 10 computers = 150 logins/changes instead of 15, and if any files are saved on the desktop, they cannot be accessed when using a different computer.
