I clean the palmrest and keyboard of my X1E2 with microfiber cloths wet with small amount of alcohol. Works great, palmrest looks like new (not for long though). I clean the top cover with a dry microfiber cloth. Also I take off the trackpoint cap and rinse it under tap water with a toothbrush. There are a couple of gotchas with this machine.
