I believe it's not to do with being previously frozen. It's to do with changing the quality/texture/taste. Probably more noticed on high water content dishes (veg) dairy products, already cooked meats. Most other supermarkets would happily put suitable for freezing but M &S want their products to be consumed at a premium taste.
