The reason TTRS brakes are better is because they run on 370mm discs. The S3 is usually on 345mm discs. The 4 pot or 6 pot thing allows for longer but narrower pads with smaller pistons so the work is done as near to the outer edge of the disc as possible as its the larger Dia that is making the car stop quicker and the further you can get the pad area from the centre the better.
