常時50人以上の社員が働く企業では労働安全衛生法により産業医を選任することが義務付けられています。 産業医の業務は、社員全員の健康を保持・増進して快適な企業活動を図らなければなりません。 そのために産業医は職場環境と労働内容を熟知する必要があります。 職場巡視は毎月行われ、仕事の方法や作業環境が健康に害を及ぼす危険のある時は、直ちにそれらを防止する処置を講ずる必要があります。 また産業医は安全衛生委員会等のメンバーとして会議に出席して意見を述べることが出来る事となっております。 このように労働衛生管理体制のなかで産業医の使命は重要で、医師として中立の立場から発言し、行動しなければなりません。
